In gas welding, a strip that is continuously fed into the molten pool and fused with the molten base metal to form a weld is called a steel wire.

Structural steel welding wire, generally low carbon steel welding parts use H08A; important low carbon steel weldments use H08Mn and H08MnA; medium strength weldments use H15A; high strength weldments use H15Mn. When ordinary carbon steel with a welding strength of 300 to 350 MPa is used, welding wires such as H08A, H08Mn and H08MnA are used.

When welding high-quality carbon steel and low-alloy structural steel, carbon structural steel wire or alloy structural steel welding wire, such as H08Mn, H08MnA, H10Mn2 and H10Mn2MoA, may be used.

The cast iron wire for cast iron is divided into gray cast iron wire and alloy cast iron wire. The type and chemical composition can be found in relevant national standards. The quality of the weld is largely related to the chemical composition and quality of the steel wire. So choosing the right steel wire is very important.
